Smile Leadership are currently seeking to represent a range of dynamic, middle leaders who specialise in working within SEN schools and are based across the West Midlands from September 2019. Specifically, we are looking for an Assistant Headteacher who holds the national SENCO qualification. We are currently supporting several settings in their search for the right candidates and are able to offer both interim and permanent placements as an Assistant Headteacher/SENCO. The positions available are offered on a full-time basis and are expected to last at least one term, with some extending across who whole academic year. There may be the potential to apply on a more permanent basis later in the year. Aspiring leaders who hold the SENCO qualification will also be considered, particularly if you have had some recent experience acting within the role. To be successful in your application for these posts, you should have experience in one or more of the following: • Leadership experience as either an Assistant Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher within a specialist SEN setting or within a mainstream setting • Hold the national SENCO qualification • Exceptionally dedicated to supporting pupils with SEN • Substantial experience as an acting SENCO (without acquiring the qualification) We work with settings who cater for a range of SEN including some of the below: • SEMH • MLD/SLD • EBD • Autism • ADHD/ADD • OCD • PMLD We are looking for middle leaders who are committed to developing a positive, enthusiastic learning culture for all staff and are able to communicate effectively building trusting relationships with staff, pupils and parents.
