Literacy for Life Teacher - Required ASAP Smile Education are working in partnership with a good Secondary School in Central Birmingham who are looking to find a Literacy for Life Teacher to join their team as soon as possible on a permanent or temporary to permanent basis. This school is ideally looking for a Primary Trained KS2 Teacher who is keen to move into the Secondary Sector to support students in Years 7 and 8 with Literacy, Numeracy and Humanities. The role Plan and teach in an integrated approach across various subjects including English, Mathematics and Humanities. Support the learning and development of students in Year 7 and 8 To ensure up-to-date assessment information is held on individual students To support the development and improvement in the links between home and school Communicate with parents when required and appropriate to discuss the progress of individual students. Attend all relevant and appropriate meetings The ideal candidate must have: Qualified Teacher Status or substantial experience within a similar role Evidence of continuing professional development Experience in a primary school setting Assessment, recording and reporting of students’ achievements and assessment for learning. Evidence of successful teaching across a wide ability range Ability to use assessment to raise standards of achievement My client is looking for someone who is a confident upper KS2 Teacher to join their supportive team. This role is permanent and to start immediately. However, a later start date can be negotiated. The salary will be based against the main pay scale (24,373 – 40,940).
