Summary NHS GRAMPIAN Divisional General Manager - Acute Sector (2 posts) 1 x Division of Surgery and 1 x Division of Medicine Band 8D (£70,657 - £86,532) NHS Grampian provides healthcare to approximately 500,000 people in urban and rural settings, delivered by around 17,000 staff. The Board has extremely close, longstanding links with both Aberdeen and Robert Gordon's Universities and holds a worldwide reputation for being at the forefront of medical research and innovative healthcare. The Acute Sector of NHS Grampian provides a full range of acute care to the population of Grampian, as well as tertiary services to the north of Scotland, including the Islands of Orkney and Shetland. With an annual revenue budget of +£370M, and over 5000 staff across the whole range of professional disciplines, the Acute Sector has six divisions - Unscheduled Care, Medicine, Surgery, Women & Children, Dr Gray's Hospital, Clinical Support Services, and is supported by the Operational and Business Support Division. As a Divisional General Manager you will be a talented professional who has an outward looking, solutions based collegiate approach in ensuring the delivery of excellent health services to our patients, their families and carers. You will demonstrate commitment to service improvement to enhance quality, efficiency, effectiveness and safety at all times. Strong inspirational leadership, management and team working skills are essential to this role. You will have extensive experience of managing the delivery of complex and challenging multi-professional services in a large complex organisation. Extended experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-professional team, you will provide leadership and direction in the planning, management and provision of all divisional services within the context of Sector, NHS Grampian and Scottish Government objectives and ambitions. The postholder will be required to work in partnership with the Divisional Clinical Director and Divisional Chief Nurse to ensure the delivery of the above. With the creation and development of Health and Social Care Integration Joint Boards (IJBs), you will increasingly be required to forge relationships and work in partnership with the local Health & Social Care Partnership staff and extended teams.
