Summary Job Reference Number: 017367 Job Title: Communications Officer (Internal Communications & Engagement) Department: Marketing & Communications Function (Team): CIS (Computing & Information Services) Responsible to: Communications Manager / Communications Officer (Corporate) Responsible for: Communications Support Officer (CIS) Grade: Grade 7 Salary range: £33,199 - £39,609 Contract type: Fixed term, 12 months Working arrangements: Full time, Mon-Fri 9-5 Closing date: 4 February 2019 Communications Officer (Internal Communications & Engagement) This is a fixed term (12 months) full time (35 hour p/w) post The Communications Officer (Internal Communications & Engagement) will have responsibility for implementing the Communications Strategy for Computing and Information Services' "Big 3" projects (see below for details). The post holder will develop, implement and evaluate effective communications campaigns and activities relating to the Big 3 to raise awareness and understanding of the projects amongst staff and students and manage stakeholder and end user expectations. A high degree of competence in communications is required for this role, along with a creative and proactive approach to work and the ability to sustain performance in a complex, fast-paced environment. The Big 3 In Summer 2018, the University committed investment to further develop capability across CIS. Work will be undertaken to address core infrastructure requirements collectively known as the "Big 3". This covers: 1. The IT Network 2. Hosting 3. Storage The Big 3 is essential to ensure that the University has IT foundations that are robust and fit for purpose in the future. This infrastructure programme will introduce technologies to provide stability and appropriate underpinning architecture. Utilising simple, standard, supportable, secure, scalable solutions it will support the delivery of University projects in a time of significant change across the organisation.
