Summary QMC and Sutton Bonington Service Centre Salary: £50,618 to £60,410 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. The Student Services department is crucial to making this aspiration real and meaningful. The Head of Student Services plays a key role in the management of the department. They provide strategic leadership, management and support to staff within the University's Service Centres and ensure the effective development and delivery of student journey services. The role holder will manage a large team spread across a group of Service Centres (Queens Medical Centre, Sutton Bonington, City Hospital and Royal Derby Hospital). This role will influence and shape services through continuous improvement to meet current and future needs of the University and will have a significant impact on the direction, strategy, objectives and results of the University. Crucial to the success of this role is the ability to build effective relationships with Faculties and Schools, ensuring effective support is delivered to both students and academic colleagues. Candidates will have a good first degree (or equivalent) and / or substantial experience of managing projects, people and resources. They will also have a proven track record of extensive relevant work experience in a related field. The role holder will develop the Service Centre team, using and sharing best practice and creating innovative responses to complex issues. They will possess the ability to build credible and long term relationships with University stakeholders and students. Extensive experience in leading student administration in an HE setting will be combined with budget planning and organising skills, a drive for results and quality focus which promotes excellence in service delivery and continuous improvement. This position is offered as a full-time, permanent contract, however job share arrangements may be considered.
