Summary

The community support role is diverse and rewarding; you will work in a motivated, experienced and established Sheffield wide community team. Flexibility and interest in community activities and social inclusion is essential in order to support people well. The Senior Support Worker will offer both direct support and line manage a small team of community based staff.

The Senior Support Worker will assist the Registered Manager in supporting people with learning disabilities and other needs in their own tenancies in the community. You will demonstrate a warm, caring and empowering approach to visiting people within their own homes. You will have the vision and flair to lead the staff team to provide the highest standard of person centred and empowering support for the individual needs of service users. The role will involve direct support, staff development, supervision and joint working with families and outside agencies. You will ensure high quality support is provided to service users with learning disabilities and complex physical needs and deploy staff effectively in line with contractual requirements.
