Department of laboratory medicine at UHS are currently recruiting for a band 6 specialist biomedical scientist - immunology, for the autoimmunity section.

Southampton General Hospital, part of Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust, is one of the largest teaching hospitals in Europe with 1400 beds and a pathology care group employing over 250 staff. The Department of Laboratory Medicine is HCPC, MHRA and ISO15189 accredited and incorporates blood transfusion, clinical biochemistry, haematology, immunology, microbiology and molecular pathology.

Applications are invited from well organised, enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals who have good interpersonal skills and management experience. A technical aptitude with extensive experience and knowledge gained in an Immunology laboratory, ideally in the specialism of autoimmunity, would be a distinct advantage

Southampton is a vibrant city offering a wide variety of facilities such as the West Quay shopping complex, a newly developed cultural quarter, theatre venues, active night life and various museums and is an international centre for ocean sailing and other water sports. The city is ideally situated within easy reach of London, the New Forest and the South Downs with the Isle of Wight on the doorstep and access to the continent by air and sea nearby. Southampton itself boasts two universities with many others in the surrounding cities.

You will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working flexibly as required for the service.
