Wessex Genomics Medicine Centre is seeking a Software Developer to build upon the success of the Informatics component of the 100,000 Genomes Project, for a fixed term two year contract. The ideal candidate will be able to solve complex problems, communicate effectively and should possess an advanced level of technical skills.
The role involves:
Gathering requirements from healthcare professionals, translating these into user stories and technical specifications to support new genomic technologies
Working in an Agile software development setting
Facilitating data capture and exchange between systems at a local, regional and national level
Providing operational support to end users
The successful candidate will have:
Essential problem-solving and logical thinking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The ability to communicate highly technical concepts to non-technical users
Detailed knowledge of the software development cycle and entire software stack
An attention to detail with a common sense approach
