Mainstream Preston Secondary School - seeking academic intervention specialist for LAC 2 days per week
Your new company A mainstream Preston secondary school have approached Hays Education to source an academic intervention specialist teaching assistant to support a Key Stage 4 student 2 days per week (Monday and Wednesday)
Your new role This role is 2 full days per week from 8:45 till 3:15 (Mondays and Wednesdays) and will be until July 2019 as a minimum. Starting mid-late January 2019 once funding is confirmed. You will be supporting a year 10 student who is behind academically and has missed a lot of school in year 9. As a teaching assistant you will be bridging the gap between the student and their peers and be able to provide sound mentoring and support to assist their learning.
What you'll need to succeed A basic knowledge of the national curriculum up to KS4 is essential. Candidates with experience of supporting learners of this age as a teaching assistant are strongly urged to apply. All candidates will need to either hold a valid DBS registered with the update service or be willing to process a new DBS through Hays Education. Formal teaching qualifications are desirable, experience of working with children in any capacity is essential.
What you'll get in return As a teaching assistant you will receive a competitive daily rate of pay, dependant on experience and qualifications. This starts at a minimum of £57 per day inclusive of holiday pay.
