Job Description

Looking to join a well-established Food processing business based within an easily accessible location in between Wakefield, Normanton and Castleford? They are a large-scale business that can offer a truly varied HR Officer role where no two days will be the same.

It's an incredibly fast paced Food environment so you need to be able to cope with this and keep in mind it's the type of place where everything needs to be done, yesterday! As the HR Officer, you need to be a strong character and not be afraid to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in.

Role and responsibilities of the HR Officer:

  • You'll be a first line of response for Employee issues as well as you ensure that managers are being provided a high level of support on a range of ER issues.

  • This is a real broad role, so whether it is disciplinaries, absence management, system input, recruitment or even project work, you can be rest assured that you'll be involved in the lot!

  • A key responsibility of the role, will be taking ownership of the Maternity and Paternity process and everything that this will entail.
  • Plenty of autonomy will be provided to ensure that you are able to make your mark, however a good level of support will be on hand should it be required.


What you need to be considered for the HR Officer position:

  • You need to have a proven track record within a HR Officer or HR Advisor, Assistant or similar capacity.
  • Holding some form of CIPD or experience directly within the Food industry.
  • Should you hold a CIPD, experience within any of the following environments will be considered: Food, Drink or Manufacturing industry or any extremely fast paced environment.
  • A strong understanding of employment law.
  • The suitable individual is going to need to be happy being a good "all-rounder" with this being so varied, time management and the ability to work under pressure is vital.
