A unique conference and events venue with rooms is looking to recruit an experience Sous Chef. The 4 star venue is located near Portsmouth and is part of a small but growing group; therefore there are excellent opportunities for career progression. As Sous Chef you will be responsible for assisting with the smooth running of the kitchen and catering for weddings and other events. You will work 48hrs per week. Working Day within the hours of 0730-2330
Sous Chef Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals to the required standard - To work alongside the other chefs in the kitchen - To produce and present the dishes to meet the required standard - To assist with managing and maintaining the stock and storage - To assist in monitoring and maintaining quality of food produced - Health & safety/food hygiene
Sous Chef Requirements:
- Good all round knowledge of food, seasonality, trends, etc - Able to cook to a rosette standard in a Modern British style - Excellent communication skills - Mature and responsible in their approach - A willingness to learn and progress - Be hands on within all sections of the kitchen - Willing to work across both sites - Great at team building, within the kitchen and Forts in general - Able to be customer facing when needed - Food Safety Awareness and able to identify problems/training needs
- A salary of up to £28k - Opportunities to progress - Staff Discount company/Gunwharf - Able to be customer facing when needed - 3/4 long days & 1 short day generally - Annualised contract - 3 months probation
