Senior Museum and Visitor Services Assistant - Food and Beverages
The main purpose of this post is to deliver high standards of customer care - a safe and inviting environment for all visitors - thus ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat visits. This role will be primarily based at Portsmouth Museum and you will work in our new in-house café and on the front desk.
Whilst working in the café you will be responsible for the day to day operation which will include: preparing food and drinks, maintaining good standards of hygiene, rotating stock, taking orders, payments and serving customers.
You will also be responsible for front of house duties which include working on reception, welcoming visitors and using your knowledge of museum sites and collections to provide general visitor information and promote current and future programmes and the city's wider cultural offer.
As a senior assistant you will perform additional responsibilities to help your line manager with daily operating procedures, such as cashing up and banking procedures, maintaining quality cafe operations, maximizing financial contributions, supervising any junior staff and volunteers and assisting them in their development.
