Job Description

  • Do you have a solid practical understanding and technical knowledge of tractors and agricultural machinery?
  • Do you have an Engineering qualification and a good understanding of machinery electrics and hydraulics?
  • Are you happy to work in a Technical Support role, based out of Essex, with regular travel in the UK and Europe?

Excellent career opportunity for a Tractor Technician involved in carrying out investigations into faults and reliability in the field, providing technical advice and support to customers, and working within the Quality function to assist the ongoing development of new products.

What does the role involve?

Responsibilities include:

  • Carry out detailed technical investigations and data collection activities, both office and field based, to understand tractor performance and reliability
  • Provide information and findings to colleagues across departments e.g. Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D etc
  • Assisting in the preparation of service information and technical guides
  • Coach and train dealers on repair methods, training others and the use of ongoing support systems and tools
  • Representing the customers' expectations, interests and concerns within the product development and manufacturing environments

Is this you?

  • Solid practical and theoretical knowledge of tractor systems
  • Some experience of the agricultural environment and sound knowledge of agricultural practices
  • Thorough and methodical technical approach to technical diagnostics and problem solving
  • Relevant agricultural or mechanical engineering qualification is desirable
  • Self-motivated and able to manage your time and workload effectively
  • Enjoys a role that involves both office based and field based activities
  • Good command of IT with good proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer focus
  • Living within a reasonable commute to Basildon, Essex
  • Happy to travel and work away within the UK and Europe as and when required
