  • Do you have an Engineering related qualification and a good understanding of machine electronics and mechanics?
  • Are you happy to work in a Field Support role, based out of Essex, with regular travel to the Africa and Middle East regions?

Excellent career opportunity for a Field Service Technician with construction machinery knowledge and experience to provide hands-on technical advice and support, to importers and end-customers across the Africa and Middle East regions.

What does the role involve?

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide specialist support and expertise to importers and end-users regarding Construction machinery (e.g. mini excavators, skip loaders, concrete mixers, tippers with chassis mounted crane and hook lift systems etc.)
  • Provide diagnostic support on-line from the company's Essex office, and directly via travel to customer sites in Africa and the Middle East as required
  • Prepare suitably detailed technical guides and customer training materials/resources
  • Coach and train customers on repair methods, training others and the use of ongoing support systems and tools

Is this you?

  • Solid practical and technical knowledge of construction machinery (including mechanical and electrical/electronic aspects)
  • Thorough and methodical technical approach to diagnostics and repair activities
  • High level of confidence and competence in a field environment
  • Relevant automotive or similar mechanical engineering qualification is desirable
  • Self-motivated and able to manage your time and workload effectively
  • Enjoys a role that involves both office based and field based support
  • Good command of IT with good proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer focus
  • Living within a reasonable commute to Basildon, Essex
  • Happy to travel regularly to the Africa and Middle East regions to provide in-person support and expertise to customers
