Cheshire Archives & Local Studies identifies, collects and cares for archives and publications that are the evidence of Cheshire communities' lives past and present. It delivers access for all to these collections for information, learning and enjoyment and works to make sure archives survive so that future generations will be able to do the same. The service is shared by Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East Councils. The post holder is expected to carry out the following duties: - Answer customer enquiries and advise on sources of information. - Catalogue and classify published material. - Promote local studies collections to extend access and use by a wider audience. - Support and lead volunteers working on individual projects. - Make a positive contribution to team objectives as set out in the service development plan.
