Summary Our presitigious client is looking for aGanger/Plant Operator of Wharf Operations to join their team at the Rainham Lagoons. They are restoring a wetland habitat, re-using material generated from our in-house dredging operations on the Thames, and major infrastructure projects. Their main site activity utilises their own wharf to unload and transport materials from barges, and managing the disposal of those materials once onsite. The role: To conduct general wharf duties, including safety, mooring activities, traffic management, unloading and weighbridge operation. You will be overseeing all the wharf activities, and actively maintain communication with tipper drivers, tug operatives, other wharf operatives and users, and the site management team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, patience, and some marine experience in tidal conditions. Duties will also include operation of telehandler and dumper, some manual handling will also be required. ****PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS POSITION UNLESS YOU HAVE MOORING AND WHARF EXPERIENCE***** Key responsibilities: People: - Adhering to and promoting a positive and productive working culture. - Manage the performance of the site operatives. Conduct yourself in a professional manner and provide support to your colleagues whenever it is needed. - Assist the Foreman/Site Manager in managing and communicating health and safety documentation to the site team (toolbox talks, RAMS, permits and inductions). - Maintaining a safe working environment on site, to encourage feedback and ideas from all personnel on site and instil a good work ethic. - Carry out works in a safe manner with minimal risk to human health. Planet: - Promote the ethos and image of the Client - Ensure the works are completed in-line with the environmental permit and environment working plan. - Carry out works with a minimal impact to the environment - Monitoring of incoming waste streams and ensuring that the correct paperwork and procedures are being followed. REQUIREMENTS: - CPCS Card Holder - Experience in a similar marine role essential - Digger and Telehandler Tickets - Flexible and able to do overtime as and when required - Awareness and Execution of good H&S Practices - ESSENTIAL previous experience Mooring and Wharf work The position is Full Time and Permanent, with a competitive wage and benefits package.
