Platinum Group Metal Services (PGMS) is one of four businesses within the Efficient Natural Resources sector that manages, distributes, refines and recycles precious metals and fabricates products using precious metals and related materials. The business unit also manufactures platinum group metals, minor metal compounds, organometallics and fine metal powders for high technology applications, as well as providing a range of management services for platinum group metals. PGMS has manufacturing operations in the UK, US and China and sells to key markets globally across Europe, the US, China and India. JOB PURPOSE Reporting to the Maintenance Manager (MM), the Team Leader (TL) will provide technical leadership to a team of multi-Skilled Technicians engaged in undertaking the repair, maintenance and installation of machines and equipment used throughout the plant to ensure operational needs are met through the timely and efficient allocation of resources and effective work prioritisation. This role is responsible for ensuring safety and quality standards are met and adhered to, the safety of the team, and to drive a proactive EHS culture focused on zero harm. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES This is an exciting leadership role within the business and the successful candidate would be responsible for the following: EHS, Quality & Security · Proactively promote and drive a positive Health & Safety culture and ensure adherence to JM policies and standards (including HR/EHS/Security) Leading towards a safe culture focused on zero harm. · Ensuring all safe systems of work are complied with by team at all times and that effective checks and controls are in place and maintained including PTW, JSA, LOTO · Responsible for the investigation and reporting of all near misses, incidents upwards to the Maintenance Manager (MM) with the aim of preventing reoccurrence. Service Delivery · Accountable for delivery and adherence to the maintenance Plan and associated priorities, ensuring that the maintenance team, delivers the required Maintenance input maximising the Production output of the plant, with the effective deployment of the appropriate available resources. · Liaising with the Lead Engineer (LE), Reliability Engineer (RE), production and technical staffs as required to reduce downtime of the plant by timely response and feed-back of issues and subsequent co-ordination of resource available to you. · Co-ordinating the team to ensure that maintenance technicians have the necessary competence, knowledge, skills and equipment in order to support the needs of the operation. · Establish, records and reports against KPI's in areas such as equipment reliability and service standards and monitors the performance of all maintenance activities against these goals. PEOPLE & CONTRACTORS · Responsible for own, contractors and your team's adherence to JM standards and performance requirements in your area remit, escalating any issues as necessary · Implementing, monitoring and reviewing training competency and development plans to support learning and development of the shift team LEAN / Continuous Improvement · Driving "Lean" initiatives in the department · Ensuring all 5S Checks and housekeeping tasks are completed · Initiating and Supporting Continuous improvement projects ORGANISATION STRUCTURE (including Reporting Lines) Reports directly to Maintenance Manager (MM) Responsible for performance reporting for the Deputy Team Leader and up to 15 Technicians The maintenance department will be comprised of 2 teams of 15 personnel covering Mechanical, Electrical & instrumentation. With a mixture of Permanent/Contractor heads. SCOPE This role will require you to work independently and collaboratively with Deputy Team Leader (DTL), Reliability Engineer (RE), Engineering Planner (EP), Compliance Engineer (CE), Lead Engineer (LE), Maintenance Manager (MM). and to support the apprentices, at times. You will be expected to: · Supervision of up to 15 direct reports · Supervision of Contractors (as Required) · Day to day management of maintenance team members · Regular interaction with production team and technical staff · Occasional interaction with project team SPECIAL FACTORS TRAVEL You will be expected to work at the Royston/Brimsdown site and may occasionally be required to travel for collaborative work and/or course attendance. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment is mainly shop floor based and will need frequently visit all production areas both pyrometallurgical and Hydrometallurgical. Due to the nature of this role applicants must be non-smokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25kg. Working Hours You will be required to work a 12-hour day shift pattern which includes weekends on a rotation of 5 days on followed by 4 days off in rotation. You may be asked to work outside of normal working hours during particularly busy periods such as the annual stocktake period in April/May, which also requires adherence to a Holiday restriction Whilst the Stocktake is being undertaken.
