NHS Jobs Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, Northwood, HA6 2RN
Summary Service Manager Radiation Services/Estates Projects The technical and scientific workforce is essential for the effective management of a specialised radiotherapy physics, bioengineering, radiation protection, nuclear medicine service and radiotherapy. These are the teams that will make up the radiations services portfolio. Mount Vernon Cancer Centre is nationally one of the few remaining standalone radiotherapy services. This means that aspects of the scope of radiation services are bespoke to the Cancer Centre. The nuclear medicine and radiation protection services provide a regional service; the bioengineering department covers hardware maintenance of the radiotherapy service, equipment maintenance for the wider cancer centre and also a mechanical and electronic workshop, delivering local innovations and developments that meet the needs of the whole Cancer Centre. The radiotherapy physics service includes the national RTTQA** team, and manages the treatment planning and the quality assurance aspects of a large brachytherapy service, 8 linear accelerators including Cyberknife, and 2 CTSim suites. This makes this one of the largest regional centres in the south east. The post holder will also be expected to liaise with both the site and Trust Estates teams to coordinate and manage estates projects. This post may close early if sufficient number of applications received. In addition, you will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £3,659 and a maximum payment of £4,664 per annum pro rata.
