Personal Assistant Job Description Job Title: Personal Assistant. Hours of Work: 14 hours per week on the following rota: Week 1 2 x 7 hour shifts to be used as follows: Monday - 10.30am to 5.30pm; or Tuesday - 10.30am to 5.30pm; or Wednesday - 2.30pm to 9.30pm Week 2 2 x 7 hour shifts to be used as follows: Wednesday - 2.30pm to 9.30pm; or Thursday - 10.30am to 5.30pm; or Friday - 10.30am to 5.30pm There may be some potential for weekends on occasion. Flexibility is required as days and times may vary. Hours to be confirmed in advance and potential cover for existing Personal Assistant will be offered from time to time. Rate of Pay: £8.21 per hour. Pen Picture of the Person Requiring Assistance: I am a 23 year old female living in the Glynneath area. I enjoy going to parks, for picnics and to the Cinema. I also enjoy going to Disco's, going out for food and swimming. I don't like dogs, except for my own. I am a family person. Tasks Include: • Support to go out in the community safely • Some support with personal care • Support with road safety Personal Qualities and Attributes required: A person who: • is calm-natured • is reliable • is a car driver • is observant as I have no sense of road safety • is patient Additional Information: This post may require a DBS check (the cost of which will be met by NPTCBC). If this post requires you to work with children then it is compulsory for you to have a DBS check prior to commencement. If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months. Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement. You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences. You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
