Summary Job TitleCNC Laser Drawing Programmer Location Pontypool DepartmentLaser Drawing Office Hours 39 Acorn is looking to recruit a CNC Laser Programmer for their Client, Flamgard Engineering Limited based in Cwmbran. The post holder will be responsible for the production of engineering drawings in preparation for the metal to be cut on the CNC machine for Flamgard's components. The post holder must be extremely detail conscious and aware of the importance of parts being programmed correctly, first time every time. Specific Activities *Detail conscious and aware of the importance of parts being drawn and being programmed correctly, first time every time *To produce CAD drawings of flat components accurately and fully dimensioned using the customer requirements and drawings as a benchmark *To ensure that these drawings are filed electronically and are easily retrievable for colleagues *To ensure production schedule is updated and maintained with the correct information relating to the job status and correspondence is a timely and professional manner. *Updating, modifying and completing CAD drawings to meet quality standards both during & after manufacture. *Paying particular attention to ensuring all designs comply with relevant health & safety and industry standards *Maintain confidentiality of customer product design & manufacturing techniques *Continuous improvement of the design office facility including, processes, procedure, documentation, standards compliance / updates, cad system and data storage *To perform any additional related duties as requested or required *To provide shop floor technical support to the production department *To continually improve existing products and help to develop new products KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Essential *High attention to detail is crucial for this role and ensuring results are accurate, first time every time *Proficient with 2 dimensional AutoCad design and drafting *Strong analytical and problem-solving skills *Experience and ability to create, read and interpret detailed engineering drawings Desirable *Time served engineer (Mechanical) *An understanding of HVAC engineering *Experienced in the use of Microsoft packages *Demonstrable mechanical and technical skills *Proactive with a good level of initiative and verbal/ written communication *Experience of working with lean processes EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS Essential *Educated to GCSE level in a relevant subject *ECDL (European Computer Driving License) or equivalent level of IT skills. *2D CAD Software Training Desirable *Educated to Degree level in a relevant subject *Mechanical knowledge *Continuous improvements techniques WORKING HOURS Monday to Thursday 07.15 - 16.25 Friday 07.15 - 12.25 To apply, please send your CV to [email protected] TODAY.
