The Department of Nursing and Midwifery, in partnership with providers across the South West, makes an active contribution to transforming healthcare practice and to the development and sustainability of a high quality health care workforce. Our nursing provision at UWE enjoys positive partnerships with a wide range of practice partners. Integral to our success are activities which enhance the student experience through innovative teaching, learning and assessment strategies. The successful candidate will contribute to these, supporting Nurse Associate pathways, pre and post registration adult nursing students and those from other fields of nursing and midwifery. We are looking to appoint a new member of the team to undertake tripartite assessments in practice environments of students primarily on our Nurse Associate pathway. There will be an expectation that the assessor will undertake tripartite assessment for other apprenticeship routes as required in the future. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will have a high level of experience of contemporary community, primary, acute or urgent care practice as well as experience in clinical, practice-based education and a good understanding of apprenticeship requirements and will have experience of assessment and support of students in clinical practice. Knowledge of current theories and concepts that underpin nursing practice and nursing education is essential. Applicants must be registered and practising as a nurse (any field) on the Nursing and Midwifery Council's (NMC) Professional Register, and possess strong evidence of continuing professional development related to their current role. Additionally individuals will hold a recognised assessor or supervisor qualification or be willing to work towards one. The post holder will carry out tripartite reviews in practice for students undertaking apprenticeship pathways in order to achieve outstanding learning outcomes for students and responsibilities will focus on ensuring fairness, equity and consistency of the tripartite reviews and providing support for our Nursing Associate and undergraduate and post qualifying learners undertaking apprenticeship pathways. The post holder will also be expected to travel across a wide geographic area in the South West, supporting employer led models of education and undertake tri-partite reviews with learners and support for supervisors and practice assessors will also be expected. This post requires enhanced DBS clearance. We would consider applications from candidates that wish to work part time.
