Summary Careers focused on people Spire Leeds is recruiting for an experienced Critical Care Lead Nurse to join their small and friendly Critical Care Team. The Critical Care department is an ITU unit comprising of 8 beds covering a wide variety of clinical specialities including; Cardiac, Ear, nose and throat (ENT) treatments, Ophthalmic, Gastroenterology, Bariatric & Complex Liver Procedures. The Critical Care Lead will also work closely with the Clinical Lead to develop the unit and train staff. Due to the multi-speciality nature of the role, this is a perfect opportunity for a nurse who wants to develop their skills. ITU specific courses are available to participate in. Duties and Responsibilities The post-holder will have experience in either ITU or Critical Care, caring for level 2/3 patients. You will ensure that patient care is consistently maintained at all times in accordance with agreed operational policies and procedures, also ensuring a clean and safe environment. You will also promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of all patients, employees and visitors and assist Senior Staff in their management of the department and provide effective leadership and management in their absence. You will participate through mentorship in the orientation and development of junior staff and directly line manage a cohort of HCA's delivering their appraisals and setting their objectives as per hospital policy. You will work with the Clinical Lead to improve nursing standards by providing support for competency assessments and practical training. Who We Are Looking For You will be a Senior Registered Nurse, have evidence of continuous professional development, with a good understanding of NMC Code of Professional Conduct and revalidation with excellent knowledge and experience in surgical nursing, and have excellent communication skills. A minimum of 2-3 years' experience working in General or Cardiac Intensive Care is desirable. ALS certificate is desirable however we can offer training in this. A mentorship qualification is not essential, however it desirable and will be utilised. *Critical Care Certificate is essential Reward We commit to our employees well-being through training, support and reward.
